The Bulletproof Process

The Bulletproof Process begins at the coffee’s origin, rooting out damaged (often mouldy) beans from the start. Bulletproof coffee uses only beans from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms in Guatemala and Colombia, coffee estates that have a direct relationship with Bulletproof and that have been trained on the Bulletproof Process. From there, every step in the Bulletproof Process minimises mould toxins.

Bulletproof uses a thorough, sustainable washing technique, rather than cheaper and more wasteful traditional methods that involve soaking coffee in large fermentation tanks. The coffee is then kept as dry as possible—under the bright sun and then in mechanical driers—to reduce moisture and opportunities for mold to grow.

Following the strict Bulletproof Process™ , Bulletproof independently screens and lab-test the beans to ensure they’re free from 27 different performance-robbing toxins so you can enjoy a pure cup of coffee every time.

All Bulletproof coffee comes from Rainforest Alliance-certified, passive-organic estates, where farmers grow coffee using traditional methods without chemicals (herbicides, pesticides, etc.).

Experienced coffee harvesters handpick only perfectly-ripe, coffee berries, and after harvesting, we use the precision Bulletproof Process™ to ensure a special upgraded class of green coffee bean with the lowest possible levels of harmful mould toxins and bacteria. Then we roast the beans in small batches in the U.S. under the strictest conditions, further minimising the formation of toxins from the roasting process. Roasting the beans enhances their naturally occurring antioxidant capacity and flavor to provide you with a healthier, tastier cup of coffee.

How to make Bulletproof Coffee

Keep going strong. The high-energy fats in this recipe work with coffee’s natural caffeine to give you steady, all-day energy.

Step 1:
Start with 8 ounces of filtered water fresh off the boil.

Step 2:
Add 2½ tablespoons of ground coffee from Bulletproof and brew.

Step 3:
Add 1-2 tablespoons of grass-fed unsalted butter or Bulletproof Ghee and 1 serving of Brain Octane Oil. (We suggest starting with just 1 teaspoon of Brain Octane Oil and gradually increasing the amount to 1-2 tablespoons.)

Step 4:
Blend until frothy and enjoy.
